What happens is that the body forms a capsule around the implant, which should remain without contracture. The calf implant is a smooth implant as it will be placed between the muscles.

Warranty
The implant comes from the factory with a 10-year warranty. It is not necessary to replace it after this period, but a follow-up appointment for examination is required.

Walking
The implant does not interfere. The implant (1) is placed between the musculature (2.3.fig 3)

PRE-OPERATIVE

1 - Complementary exams to be specified.
2 - Photograph of the area is important for evaluation, surgical planning, and documentation.
3 - Provide a compression stocking for post-operative use and bring it to the clinic on the day of surgery. An anti-thrombo stocking is recommended.
4 - Attend the clinic on the agreed day and time.
5 - Do not bring jewelry and other valuables to the clinic.
6 - Do not paint your nails.
7 - Any intercurrence such as illnesses (flu, fever, infection) or other reasons that may lead to the suspension of surgery, please notify in advance. Arnica can be used to avoid bruising. This should be started one week to ten days before the surgery. Have an evaluation with the anesthesiologist for guidance on important pre-operative medications for healing, aiming for better recovery.

CARE

1 - Fasting for at least 6 hours before the start of the surgery.
2 - Medication for hypertension and other diseases should be informed for further guidance.
3 - Do not take medication containing acetylsalicylic acid (e.g., AAS, Rhonal, Buferin, Aspirin) one week before and one week after the surgery as it increases bleeding.
4 - Discontinue weight loss medications 15 days before the surgery.
5 - Do not smoke 15 days before and 15 days after the surgery. How about taking the opportunity to quit smoking?

POST-OPERATIVE

Pain
There may be a sensation of pressure that subsides in 2 days.

Hospital Stay
You may stay for 24 hours.

First Dressings
Dressings with bandage immediately after surgery and placement of an anti-thrombo stocking the next day, which should remain for 30 days.

General Post-Operative Care
Patients are allowed to walk and wear moderate heel shoes, as they relax the musculature.

Shower
Normal shower after removing the bandages. Dry the dressing area with a hairdryer.

Diet
Normal.

Bruising
Bruises are absorbed within 7 to 10 days, and a special ointment or gel can be used.

Removal of Stitches
There is no need to remove stitches, as they are internal and surgical glue is used.

Physical Efforts
Weight training is not recommended for 4 months. Other physical activities can be performed as guided.

Driving
It is allowed as long as you do not feel pain.

Massage
Post-operative massage should be performed rigorously in the first month with the help of a specialized professional (masseuse or physiotherapist). After this period, the patient can continue the massage for at least six months.

Sensitivity
There may be an increase or decrease in sensitivity for a period of 2 months.

"WILL THIS DISAPPEAR?"

Every surgery involves its own recovery period. Give it time, and your body will take care of dissipating small issues that will inevitably catch someone's attention, prompting the observation: "Will this disappear?" Do not hesitate to communicate any concerns to us. We will provide the necessary clarifications for your peace of mind.

RESULT

From the second month, a new photo session will take place for comparison of pre and post-operative (before and after) until the 6th month. At the 6th month, there will be a re-evaluation for discharge or any touch-up if necessary. The touch-up, which is considered common in plastic surgery, should be performed after the 6th month and within one year after the surgery.

CALF IMPLANT WHAT IS CALF IMPLANT SURGERY?
