Dr. Ana Zulmira conducts a course on CO2 Laser for Facial Resurfacing, at the Paraná Medical Association, with the international participation of Dr. Thomas Roberts III (USA).

During the 1st Brazilian Laser Congress, held in Curitiba, Dr. Ana Zulmira presented on the topic of Skin Resurfacing, a subject that, in the same year, led to the publication of her book "A Ray of Light – Laser Facial Rejuvenation", aimed at patients and students, containing information, testimonials, and photos of patients who underwent Laser Resurfacing. With the goal of demystifying and clarifying questions about the procedure, this work was carried out in partnership with Noeli d´Almeida, a writer and patient, and Dr. Léa Mara Moraes. A CO2 Laser course was conducted with the presence of Dr. Alan Brackup.

The book "Laser Facial Rejuvenation" is published, aimed at doctors, covering technical aspects, indications, and management of complications, authored by Dr. Ana Zulmira Diniz Badin, Dr. Léa Mara Moraes, and Dr. Thomas Roberts III (USA). In the same year, Dr. Ana Zulmira organizes the theoretical-practical course on CO2 Ultrapulse Laser, featuring Dr. Gregory (USA). The course is held from October 17th to 18th at the Sirlei Rinaldi Study Center of the Athena Medical Center.

In March, Dr. Ana Zulmira is organizing a Laser course covering CO2, Erbium, Vascular, Pigmented Lesions, and Tattoos, featuring Dr. Robert Adrian (Washington-USA) as a guest speaker. The theoretical course is held at the Sirlei Rinaldi Study Center of the Athena Medical Center, and the practical session at Intralaser (Laser Treatment Institute).

In June, the II Brazilian Congress of Video-Endoscopic Plastic Surgery and the I International Advanced Course of Video-Endoscopic Surgery in Plastic Surgery will take place at the Bourbon Hotel in Curitiba, an event organized by SBCP - Video-Endoscopic Surgery Chapter, Plastic Surgery Service of the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre, Athena Medical Center (Athena Clinic), and Intralaser (Laser Treatment Institute). The event brings together foreign guests, such as Dr. Oscar Ramirez, Dr. Renato Saltz, and Dr. Thomas Roberts III (USA), Dr. Abel Chacir (Argentina), and Dr. Santiago Umaña (Colombia). The practical part is held at the Athena Clinic, which on the same occasion has its new expansion inaugurated.

In October, Dr. Ana Zulmira organizes the II Course on Videoendoscopy in Plastic Surgery, associated with the International Conference on Plastic Surgery organized by Dr. José Carlos de Miranda and Dr. Ruth Graf, at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel, in Curitiba.

Dr. Ana Zulmira is the regent of the Endoscopic Chapter of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery. In September, a Video Course is held, featuring international guests: Dr. Renato Saltz (USA). Dr. Ana Zulmira launches the book “Facial Rejuvenation: Videoendoscopic Surgery and Ancillary Procedures”, co-authored with Dr. Carlos Casagrande and Dr. Renato Saltz.

Still acting as regent of the Endoscopic Chapter of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery, in August, the III VEMI course – Advanced Videoendoscopy Course, promoted by the Videoendoscopy Chapter and hosted at the Athena Medical Center, begins to have more demonstrative surgeries, with two days of course (one theoretical and one practical), including endoscopy surgeries, frontal and mid-face endoscopy, endoscopic submammary breast and endoscopic submuscular breast augmentation, endoscopic mini-abdominoplasty and endoscopic gluteal prosthesis. The first speakers are Dr. Ana Zulmira Diniz Badin, Dr. Carlos Casagrande, Dr. Léa Mara Moraes and Dr. Oromar Moreira Filho. On May 16, the Laser Course promoted by the Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery (SBLMC) - Paraná Regional (President Dr. Ana Zulmira Badin) and the Brazilian Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery (SBACV) - Paraná Regional takes place, with a Scientific Dinner that addresses the Current Stage of Lasers in Vascular Surgery, and features guests Dr. Ari Elwing, Dr. Kasuo Miyake and Dr. Adamastor H. Pereira. The practical demonstration takes place the following day, at the Athena Medical Center and at Intralaser, with the following program: Practical Demonstration of the Use of Laser Technology in Vascular Lesions, Laser 532 (face, leg vessels), Laser 1064 (hemangiomas, poikiloderma) and Surgical Demonstration of Endovascular Therapy for Large Caliber Varicose Veins with Diode Laser.

In June, the Laser Training Course is held, covering three areas that use lasers in medicine: Plastic Surgery, Gynecology, and Dermatology. The course is promoted by the Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery (SBLMC), SBLMC - Paraná Regional (President Dr. Ana Zulmira Badin), with support from the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP) – Paraná Regional, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Society of Paraná (SOGIPA), the Brazilian Society of Pathology of the Lower Genital Tract and Colposcopy - Paraná Chapter (SBPTGIC-PR), with demonstrative procedures in plastic surgery, dermatology, and gynecology that are presented at the Athena Medical Center and Intralaser.

This year, the IV VEMI course – Immersion: Videoendoscopy, Scarless Face Lift, and Facial Rejuvenation is promoted by the Videoendoscopy Chapter of the SBCP and the Aesthetics Chapter of the SBCP, with support from the SBCP – Paraná Regional. The demonstrative surgeries are performed at the VEMI headquarters, at the Athena Medical Center.

In May, the Laser Training Course is held, managed by the Brazilian Laser Society (SBL) - Southern Region, under the direction of Dr. Ana Zulmira. This year, the course is promoted by SBLMC, SBLMC - Paraná Regional and Intralaser (Laser Treatment Institute), with support from the Paraná Society of Dermatology (SBD), SBCP - Paraná Regional, Brazilian Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery (SBACV), Brazilian Dental Association - PR Section, Regional Council of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy of the 8th Region and the Association of Aesthetic Professionals of Paraná (APEPR).

Composed of theoretical and practical modules, the training is taught by renowned professionals in the field, including Dr. Charles Yamaguchi (São Paulo), president of the Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery (SBLMC), who coordinates the Plastics and Dermatology module, which addresses the topic "Treatment of Cellulite and Localized Fat with Alphatech". Other courses address "Use of Laser in Dentistry", "Diode Laser in Baldness", "Facial Photorejuvenation", "Vascular Lesions", among others. All concepts presented in theory are applied in practice, in the surgical rooms of the Athena Medical Center.

The V VEMI - Advanced International Course on Videoendoscopic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Procedures is promoted by the Athena Medical Center and features the distinguished presence of Dr. Yves Illouz (France), considered the "Father of Liposuction", and the renowned anatomist Dr. Celso Bohorquez (Colombia). The demonstration surgeries are performed at the VEMI headquarters, at the Athena Medical Center.

Also worked this year as a Preceptor in the Plastic Surgery Residency at the Evangelical Hospital.

Dr. Ana Zulmira assumes the presidency of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP) - Paraná Regional. During her tenure, she organizes and presides over the Southern Brazilian Conference of Foz do Iguaçu. This year, the VI VEMI - International Advanced Course in Videoendoscopic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Procedures is promoted by SBCP – Paraná Regional and the Videoendoscopy Chapter of SBCP/2006. The foreign guests are: Dr. Renato Saltz (USA), Dr. Jorge de La Torre (USA), Dr. Píer Luigi Canta (Italy), Dr. Aldo Motura (Argentina) and Dr. Celso Bohorquez (Colombia).

In October, the book "Videoendoscopy in Body Contouring and Ancillary Procedures," signed by Dr. Ana Zulmira Diniz Badin and Dr. Lydia Masako Ferreira, is launched, which is later translated into Spanish and Italian.

She also served this year as a Preceptor in the Plastic Surgery Residency at the Evangelical Hospital.

In August, the VII VEMI - International Course on Videoendoscopy in Plastic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Procedures is promoted by SBCP – Paraná Regional under the direction of Dr. Ana Zulmira, by the Chapter of Videoendoscopy in Plastic Surgery of the SBCP, and by the Athena Medical Center. This year, the main guests are: Dr. Luiz Vasconez (USA), Dr. Bruce Chau (USA), Dr. Celso Bohorquez (Colombia), Dr. Ali Pirayesh (Belgium), Dr. Vishal Patel (India), and Dr. Alessandro Gennai (Italy).

This year, in November, with Dr. Ana Zulmira as president of SBCP – Paraná Regional, Curitiba hosts the 44th Brazilian Congress of Plastic Surgery, presenting the course on Videoendoscopy on the last day of the event. Plastic surgeon Dr. Léa Mara Moraes, together with surgeons Dr. Carlos Casagrande and Dr. Ana Zulmira Badin, will teach the course Videoendoscopy in Plastic Surgery: Breast, Abdomen, and Face. The course, coordinated by Dr. Antonio Roberto da Rosa Rezende, is promoted by the Brazilian Chapter of Videoendoscopy in Plastic Surgery (SBCP). The demonstration surgeries are performed at the headquarters of VEMI - International Course on Videoendoscopy in Plastic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Procedures, at the Athena Medical Center.

She also served this year as a Preceptor in the Plastic Surgery Residency at the Evangelical Hospital.

This year, the VIII VEMI - International Course on Videoendoscopy in Plastic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Procedures features the participation of the following international guests: Dr. Renato Saltz (USA), Dr. Jorge de La Torre (USA), Dr. Rômulo Guerrero (Ecuador), Dr. Celso Bohorquez (Colombia), Dr. Gabriel Alvarado (Colombia), Dr. Gino Lhosa (Colombia). The course is supported by the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP) - Paraná Regional and the Iberian-Latin American Federation of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (FILACP). It also acted as a Preceptor in the Plastic Surgery Residency of the Evangelical Hospital this year.

The IX VEMI - International Course of Videoendoscopy in Plastic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Procedures, promoted by the Athena Medical Center, is supported by SBCP, SBCP - Paraná Regional, the Videoendoscopy Chapter of SBCP, and the Ibero-Latin American Federation of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (FILACP). In its ninth edition, it features icons of the videoendoscopic technique: Dr. Antonio de La Fuente (Spain) and Dr. Verônica Wertmuller (Argentina). She also served as a Preceptor in the Plastic Surgery Residency of the Evangelical Hospital this year.

The X VEMI - International Course of Videoendoscopy in Plastic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Procedures, in its tenth and final edition, features icons of the videoendoscopic technique: Dr. Bryan Mendellson (Australia), Dr. Marco Aurélio Faria Correa (Singapore), and Dr. Gino Lhosa (Peru), in addition to all the Brazilian speakers. The meeting of all these professionals, over ten years, has provided updates in teaching and technical development, promoting evolution in new segments within the specialty, both in aesthetic and reconstructive, facial and body surgery. Innovative technical alternatives and complementary procedures were presented in an atmosphere of much debate and exchange of experiences. These courses promoted by the Athena Medical Center were supported by SBCP, SBCP – Paraná Regional, Videoendoscopy Chapter of SBCP, Ibero-Latin American Federation of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (FILACP), Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery (SBLMC), and The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS).

In February, he participated as a speaker at ABAM – American Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting – Florianópolis – SC, with the topics: Videoendoscopy Course and Periareolar Surgery.
